Set volume and mute before a call

Goal. Unmute and set the volume to a known level before a meeting, or mute everything when stepping away.

Commands

aos audio volume          # print the current level
aos audio volume 40       # set it
aos audio volume +5       # nudge up
aos audio volume -10      # nudge down
aos audio mute            # print the mute state
aos audio mute off
aos audio mute toggle

Before a call:

aos audio mute off && aos audio volume 40

Stepping away:

aos audio mute on

What to tell an agent

Unmute and set the volume to 40 before my 3pm call.

Gotchas

• This is the system output. Input mute for the microphone is handled by the meeting app.
• Volume is 0 to 100. Relative changes clamp at the ends.
• No display needed. Audio commands work over SSH and on a headless box with a sound device.
